We’re honored to once again be invited to participate in Heritage’s Annual Festival of Spirituals! Heritage is a Spirituals chorale in Baton Rouge that’s analogous to us up here in NW Louisiana, founded and still directed by Clarence Jones. Each year we go to their Festival on the first Saturday of Black History Month, and they in turn come up to our Bobby Wiggins Festival of Spirituals on the last Saturday of Black History Month (Leap Year Day this year — announcement coming soon to this website).

This year it’ll be held at a different venue than before (see venue address block).

We just participated in an awesome Festival of Spirituals hosted by our good friends, HERITAGE of Baton Rouge!

Those of you living in or near Shreveport may be interested in attending a New Dimensions Choral Society Rehearsal. These are held almost every Monday night (except in the summer between seasons and for a winter holiday hiatus and on certain holidays), and we’d love to have you visit!

But not this Monday, February 3! After traveling to Baton Rouge and back, frankly, we need a rest, so there is no rehearsal on that Monday.

Please join us for our next regularly scheduled rehearsal on Monday, February 10, at 7 ㏘ at 4714 Monkhouse Drive (New Arts Cultural Society building).

Come join us as we close out Black History Month with our annual Festival of Spirituals, renamed in honor of our late and much-missed founder and long-time artistic director, Mæstro Bobby Wiggins.

Grambling State University Concert Choir under the direction of Natorshau Davis — they get better every year!
Southern University and A&M College — Baton Rouge Concert Choir under the direction of Prof. Charles Lloyd, Jr.
Heritage of Baton Rouge (which holds a similar Festival of Spirituals there on the first weekend of Black History Month each year, in which we participate), under the direction of Clarence Jones
Philander Smith Collegiate Choir under the direction of Dr. Stephen Hayes, who formerly directed the Acappella Choir of Wiley College which has performed at past Bobby Wiggins Festivals. We can’t wait to see what he’s done with this new choir of his!
Texas Southern University Choir under the direction of Dr. Kiana Williams
Festival Choir — consisting of singers from these local High School choirs jointly directed by Caddo Magnet High’s own Jennifer Jackson:
